Portraits
If you are looking for on-site portraiture for your event, organization or business, I'm an experienced and knowledgable choice. In the Northstate, I have shot subjects for publication in the Chico News & Review, InSideOut magazine, The Synthesis and the Sacramento Valley Mirror. My work has also appeared in national and regional publications including, but not limited to: The Los Angeles Times, National Geographic Kids and Sierra Club magazine.
Community Events
With nearly 20 years' experience shooting all kinds of community events, festivals and ceremonies, I am a great choice for companies or public agencies seeking to capture a once-in-a-lifetime event with professional-quality photos. At $65 an hour, my services are within the reach of most organizations and entities, and you'll get images worthy of framing as opposed to point-and-shoot snapshots.
Sports Photography
I have the photographic equipment and talent necessary for shooting sports. My recent sports photography clients include the Sacramento Valley Mirror and Chico State University. I enjoy the challenge of augmenting game shots with images that reveal the depth and personality of the players and fans. I have also shot team and individual player photos.
Photojournalism
While serving as photo editor during nine years at the Chico News & Review, in which the above photos appeared, I had occasion to photograph persons as diverse as Ray Charles and Mikhail Gorbachev. I have photographed hundreds of concerts and dozens of bands and artists. I also covered breaking news events and shot most of the photo-based covers for the alternative weekly newsmagazine. I previously worked for newspapers on California's Central Coast and Northcoast, covering a major earthquake, community events and much more.
